Pleasure to Have In Class is a platform that is meant to give students, families, and educators a place to understand and speak on how education can be fixed in practical ways and to do the hard work to change.
I graduated from preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, and college in California. After college, I began working in education advocacy, helping families and children to navigate public, private, and charter schools in California, to make goals and to achieve their goals. Between observing students in classes, scheduling college tours, and creating curriculum, I’ve been alongside families to see their children graduate and move into adult life. I’m now working with the children of the students I first began working with. As I reflect over all that I have experienced, the one thing I would change that can be changed is school. Whether I am speaking with parents, interacting with students, talking with school staff, or chatting with other likeminded people in education, there is one truth everyone can agree on: school needs to change. I am positing that school can change.
